My Students
Throughout the school year, I love to search for engaging and motivating ways to help my students progress in the speech room, classroom, and community. Each day, I wish for my students to encounter something new and exciting in Speech and Language!
I am lucky to work with students ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade who attend Speech and Language Therapy in order to strengthen their ability to communicate effectively with their peers and teachers.
The students I work with have a strong desire to succeed! I have watched my students learn and grow when they have access to a vast array of materials including hands-on activities, manipulatives, visual supports, books, and games. I work in a school where therapists and teachers collaborate so that Speech and Language goals can be targeted beyond the Therapy Room.
My Project
My students would benefit greatly from a laser black and white printer, as well as, a color printer. Speech and language therapy provides students with instruction on their learning level. With these printers, my students will have access to differentiated materials across content areas and grade level. Students will be able to visualize a text in true color to help them understand, sequence, and retell stories. After producing their own written work on a computer, students will be able to quickly print their text in black and white for a classroom assignment. We can also make our own vocabulary cards and articulation books in color that my students can share in the classroom and bring home for carryover.
My students often benefit from the use of picture supports and graphic organizers to access the curriculum. Having the ability to print these materials will allow my students to use these supports across their school and home environments.
These printers will significantly improve the lives of all my students by giving them access to new and stimulating materials.
These printers will help them by supporting them in their classrooms and by encouraging them to be proud of their work when they can print and take it to class! My students will be one step closer to reaching their Speech and Language goals with your help!
