This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars are special because they are all ENL students who are learning both language and academic content at the same time. Each child is commanding their second language at a different proficiency level.

Being a teacher encompasses being a provider, motivator, facilitator, counselor, cheerleader, among many other titles.

Even though this is a challenging task, all scholars enter the classroom each day with a smile and an eagerness to learn. Each day I wake up ready to share my knowledge to help them get closer to reaching their academic success.

My Project

All of these materials will make a difference in setting up my class for success this upcoming school year in the fall. I teach a bilingual third grade classroom and have levels ranging from Pre-K - 3rd grade academically. It is a Title 3 school and is often difficult to get simple resources.

The sight word supplies will help my beginner students build their foundations of literacy.

My goal is to get my students reading and to differentiate my instruction for those who enter the classroom on level and reading. The reading passages will help my students build comprehension, vocabulary and annotating skills. The other supplies such as borders, staples and tape will help me set up the classroom to make it more inviting and welcoming for students. The dry erase markers and erasers would help with interactive small group instruction to that can be used with dry erase boards.
