Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Almost all of my students between my two schools are on loaner instruments. We are short a few shoulder rests and we would like them to have a shoulder rests to go with their loaner violin or viola, each. Also, I want students to have the opportunity to learn how to use a tuner. Not only would self-tuning speed up tuning routines, but using a tuner could help them to find the correct finger placement for pitches.
Shoulder rests help violin and viola students to support their instruments across their collar bone, keeping their instruments in an optimized playing position, which will greatly enhance their tone.
Self-tuning with tuner will speed up tuning procedures, which means more instructional and rehearsal time. They're also handy for monitoring proper hand position and finger placement.
