My Students

What continent do you live on? Half of my students have trouble answering this question. 150 or more of my student use the atlases every day for several months, and we have worn out our old atlases!

My students surprise me with their unique questions and excitement about exploring the world around them.

They come willing to learn every day, but do not come equipped with all of the tools. With over 75 percent of my students on free and reduced lunch, and their parents often working 2 or more jobs, my kids come in having little experience with World Geography.

My Project

Our current set of paperback atlases is falling apart and missing pages. My students deserve quality materials, they are worth it! A new class set of hardback atlases will withstand the everyday wear and tear of over 150 students. They love learning geography, the continents and oceans, how to read a map, how to use latitude and longitude. They use the atlases to learn about everything from plate tectonics to the impact of the environment on ancient civilizations.

My students are passionate about learning geography, fascinated by where they live and where their families have lived.

Using these brand new atlases, my students will develop the foundational geography skills to begin studying ancient history and to prepare for their future success in school.
