Help me give my students an immersive medieval experience to kick off our King Arthur novel study and middle ages history unit. Students would benefit from the eyewitness account of jousting tournaments, traditional dress, and chivalrous language.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My sixth-grade students are some of the most inspiring, kindhearted people I know. It's a growth year for sure as they transition from upper elementary to middle school. Separately, they're pretty unsure of themselves, but together, they are a force to be reckoned with and spark the most vibrant class discussions.
As an educator of special needs students, I am constantly looking for ways to make the on-grade level curriculum more accessible (and engaging!) for all learners.
Thinking outside the box and presenting the same material my colleagues are in a manner that works best for my diverse set of students is a challenge I love to take on daily!
My Project
Imagine a history lesson presented by a queen and the noble court set within the walls of an 11th century-style castle. Every painstakingly recreated detail of this field trip will help take students on a personal journey back to the Middle Ages.
This interactive educational experience will provide my students with the background knowledge and connection necessary for our upcoming novel study.
Students will see firsthand jousting challenges on horseback, observe chivalry at its finest, and leave this field trip having painted themselves a mental image of medieval nobility prior to reading our core novel, King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table.
