Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the resources I added to my project, they would help my students succeed by having reliable resources and up to date tools to help my students and myself succeed in the classroom.
This past year was my first year teaching and I realized how many critical resources we're not provided as teachers.
I found out about DonorsChoose a few months ago and had my first project donated...and WOW it made such a difference in my classroom when it came to visuals and hands-on experiments. I'm hoping I can start my second year of teaching with the support I need to be even more successful.
I will apply what I've learned in my first year of teaching to provide the resources needed to help all of my students succeed. I'm currently teaching at a Title I school in Atlanta, GA and I would appreciate any extra support. Teaching takes a village, especially when you feel like you don't have enough tools and resources to begin with to make your classroom welcoming, comfy, and practical.
I will use the extra headphones for my fifth graders as they embark in technology-based learning for part of the day, I will use the MacBook to have a more up-to-date and faster computer with more options for PowerPoints and having the capability to be more creative in technology-based projects, a set of clipboards for when students do stations and need to be mobile, the manual adjustable standing desk for displaying science experiments in front of the class, and the teacher clipboard for when I'm walking around the room to make note of who is being productive during stations and to also carry important items with me throughout the day.
