My students need access to technology within the classroom. We are hoping to receive Kindles so that students will be able to carry out independent tasks such as research.

My Students
This year I have the privilege of teaching a wonderful group of super smart third graders who are eager to learn and even more eager to reach goals set before them. More than 60% of my students are from low socioeconomic households, and lack access to the most basic of technological resources.
Many of my students are capable of being ranked among the brightest students in the state, but these socioeconomic challenges place restrictions on just how far they can truly go due to their limited access to resources.
My Project
The Kindles provide the students with access to endless information and educational resources, all while promoting engagement within their learning.
With Kindles, students are learning to independently research unknown information, and they do this with eagerness and excitement.
Kindles are providing students with an extra incentive to take control of their learning. Students are more prone to stepping out on their own and learning facts before waiting on their teacher to facilitate. Students are also being provided with the opportunity to access websites geared towards strengthening their math and literacy skills. Kindles are filling the classroom with a liveliness as students are able to learn with something they are motivated by.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
