My Project

HCCMST is working hard to make their new school feel like home. One way I want to help this happen is to let every student have their own piece of art hanging in our outdoor dining area. What better way to help every student shine than by making their own sun catcher?

Bright colored beads, crystal prisms, oh my!

My students will string a cord of beads together, about the distance of their arm span. We will attach a hook to one end and a crystal prism to the other. (Our science teacher will join us for these classes to talk about light refraction and how rainbows work!) Their simple strand of beads will be hung in the Crepe Myrtle trees that surround the our picnic tables outside the cafeteria. Since it is such a frequently used space, it will bring such joy and brightness to everyone that uses it!
