My Students

My students coming into my new classroom this year are in for an exciting year with a new teacher. 6th grade is going to be amazing! My students are excited for the new year. We will start off the year with 24 stellar students who are ready to learn and explore new things.

The students in my class are amazed at the great opportunity they will have this year, to have a student centered learning experience, with a lot of hands on activities.

With my style of teaching, I try very hard to help the students work through ideas and strategies outside of just textbooks and worksheets. This focus with the students help engage them to have fun while learning new things.

So, hats off to my new class! It's going to be an adventurous learning year, filled with lots of teaching moments with life connections in all subjects. Did I mention they are amazing? Thought so! I may be a bit biased though.

My Project

Okay, this isn't the most exciting project, but the impact is HUGE! No one, and I mean no one, likes the grinding sound of a pencil sharpener while you are trying to figure out how to add or subtract fractions with unlike denominators, right? Well, now you see our need for two, new, quiet, long lasting, fantastic electric pencil sharpeners. Do you know what else is cool about this sharpener? If the sharpening mechanism breaks, a new part can be replaced for a few bucks, eliminating the cost of replacing the whole thing. Not very exciting, but has a super impact for our classroom. How cool is that?

Quiet pencil sharpeners are a lot better than the awful grinding of a manual sharpener, so please help us from the noise and help us reduce our interruptions by an old grumpily, noisy one.

These "exciting" needs in my classroom needs help the learning atmosphere and the ears of the students and... um... me the teacher. Thanks for helping us out!
