My Project
It is vital for every young musician's success to ensure there is individual practice time built into their weekly routine. Individual practice allows for further understanding and comprehension of new skills acquired during class rehearsal and success in learning and performing new pieces of music. After taking a survey this year with my students, the majority of my students shared that they live in a household scenario where there are shared walls (apartment/townhouse) or noise limits. Many students wish to practice at home but shy away from this concern.
After showing my students a practice mute and the effect it creates on dampening the sound of the instrument, many students expressed interest in having one for their own personal practice.
Having these practice mutes will increase enjoyment, personal growth, and promote emotional wellbeing.
In addition we have four cello's in our inventory that need A strings to be fully functional. These cello's have slowly been restored over the course of the year and with completed strings will be ready to use for future students next school year.
