We are a group of diverse, energetic, and excited learners. We learn in one of the most diverse districts in the country. Within our four walls, I have students who speak Burmese, Somali, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Spanish, and English. Even with all of these different languages, students always find a way to communicate and learn together.
Kindness, empathy, compassion, joy, and excitement are demonstrated everyday with our students.
These 3rd graders will always amaze me with how well they treat each other and how supportive they are of one another.
My Project
Each classroom has a limited amount of shelves for our classroom library. I need more shelves and tubs to keep students engaged in reading and to help students easily find books they will enjoy. I want students to have easy access to more books in the classroom. The tubs will be labeled by genre, author, or even "Teacher's Top Picks" or "Our Class Favorites" so students can locate a book of their choice. Students will be able to shop for books more easily when our classroom library is more organized and easily accessible.
