This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, curiosity, and heart. Each one walks through our classroom door carrying a unique story, and yet, they all share a hunger to learn, to grow, and to be seen. Some face daily challenges outside of school that no child should have to worry about—food insecurity, unstable housing, or lack of basic supplies. But when they’re in our classroom, they are thinkers, readers, builders, artists, and dreamers.

Setting the right conditions in a classroom can have a multitude of positive outcomes.

Positive outcomes are not accidents; it’s a result of a safe well equip learning environment. They happen when students have what they need—when resources meet potential the learning magic happens.

With this funding, I will be able to give my students basic supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayons, and folders—so no child feels ashamed for not having their own, and everyone starts the day prepared to learn.

I will be able to give my students hands-on materials for math and science, so students can engage with content in tangible, memorable ways, rather than just through worksheets or lectures, and books that reflect their lives and expand their worlds—so every student sees themselves in the pages and discovers people and places far beyond their own neighborhood.

Every resource is a building block toward confidence, curiosity, and success. My students don’t need charity, they need champions. With your help, I can be one of them.
