Shaw High School Golf: A Hole in One!

Help me give my students the opportunity to have a successful golf team at SHS. The Flightscope Mevo+ will allow us to practice on-site and become better daily.

My Students

Our 9th-12th grade students are very energetic and passionate about staying active throughout life. They enjoy a wide range of activities that allow them to challenge their bodies as well as their minds.

Our students are from a city where poverty affects their daily life.

Many students see crime happen regularly and are very transient due to these challenges.

Our students truly are a pleasure to teach and have a real thirst for knowledge that is evident to everyone they come in contact with.

In spite of the challenges our students face, their resiliency allows them to overcome their obstacles in life. With your donations, I will be able to expose my students to new opportunities that they would most likely never receive.

My Project

Golf in East Cleveland is nonexistent. There is nowhere to practice, no access to clubs and equipment to become good at the sport, so I thought why not bring golf into Shaw high school and have a simulated, but still accurate experience. This experience with the Flightscope Mevo+ will give my student-athletes the ability to practice daily, with instant feedback, thus allowing them access to the sport that they need to become competitive.

Scholarship opportunities are abundant for students of color in the sport of golf and my goal is to see my student-athletes take advantage of these scholarships, advance to college, and see that there is more to life than what you see every day in East Cleveland.

I want golf to be the vehicle that gets my student-athletes the opportunity to go to college!
