Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn daily despite the fact that most of them come to school with little or no school supplies. I focus on providing a fun and creative learning environment. My students are regular education and English as a second language learners and special education students. Most of my students live in single-parent homes.
I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
I know I cannot change the struggles they face at home, but I can make sure their lives at school are positive, exciting, and rewarding.
My Project
Having this Little Snowie 2 Ice Shaver - Premium Shaved Ice Machine and Snow Cone Machine with Syrup Samples for our class will be awesome. I am always looking for incentives for my students to earn class money. My students will be able to use class money to buy snow cones and other treats on Fridays. Most of my students are from low income homes and having weekly treats at school like this is not an essential need.
Giving them the financial power to purchase goods and services.
We can improve our financial literacy by including money management, goods and services, earning and saving to our learning. This will be an awesome learning incentive. My students will learn early that they can earn money for good behavior, class growth and use it to reward themselves and/or possibly another classmate or individuals around our school. As a class we can earn class money to bless another member of our school to enhance our charitable initiative.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
