This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sometimes, we take necessities for granted. My heavy-duty pencil sharpener is on it's last leg. We're having a difficult time sharpening our pencils. We need something that works!!
Every student learns differently, and when teaching in a self-contained special education class, we have many different learning styles and personalities.
My students come from low income homes, and many of their parents have difficulty reading, writing, and helping with homework. My students need to know that they CAN do it, with YOUR help, of course!
My wonderful students are in a 12:1:1 self-contained Special Education program in a Title I school. My students work hard every day towards achieving the same academic goals as their general education peers. The disabilities of the students in my class include autism, speech and language impairments, and learning disabilities.
My Project
Pencils are used daily in class, and without a pencil sharpener to sharpen our pencils, it becomes difficult to produce our work quickly. My students face too many challenges everyday, and the lack of supplies should not be a challenge that they need to face.
By December, we are all out of pencils that our students bring in. So, supplying my students with pencils will ease one more of their worries.

That's how hard it is for my students without pencils!!
