Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is very diverse. Students come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are located near one of the largest and busiest shipping ports in the world. The students are very proud of their school and town.
The students in my class are an upbeat and energetic group of learners.
They yearn to learn new things academically inside the class. They are hard workers who put forth their best effort. My students love coming to school and enjoy all subject areas!
My Project
Every school year my students get immersed in reading and writing workshop. They read numerous stories about faraway places or about a funny character in a comic book. They write essays about their own lives or write to persuade the opinion of others. My students enjoy reading and writing every day but it would not be possible without the correct tools.
My students need supplies for reading and writing workshop.
These supplies, such as pencils, folders, post-it notes, and chart paper are essential tools in our daily literacy program. My students need post-it notes and highlighters to keep track of their reading notes. They need folders to keep their writing organized through the entire writing process. My students need chart paper for presentations pertaining their reading and writing. The chart paper, sharpies, and glue sticks will also be used to create visual aids for the students. The incentive charts will be used to keep track of how many books the students read. Lastly, the pencils and pencil sharpener are the most essential tools in reading and writing! My students will be using these supplies every day as they delve into the newest reading adventure or escape in writing their next realistic fiction stories. These supplies will sharpen their reading and writing skills!
