A sharp pencil will assist my students in completing their assigned tasks. We have tried the handheld pencil sharpeners which often times leads to frustration and incomplete work. Many of my students come to school without supplies or pencils needed to complete work.
My students consist of special education students with learning disabilities.
They are hard workers and enjoy school. My school is located in the southern burbs of Chicago and in a low socioeconomic area. They are will willing to complete assignments but often come to school without the needed supplies in order to do so. My classroom has a pencil sharpener attached to the wall, but it doesn't work and it "eats" pencils.
My Project
My students will be able to use the pencils and the pencil sharpeners to complete their work and their assignments. I currently have a few handheld sharpeners that take forever to sharpen and this takes away from work completion time. The electric pencil sharpeners will benefit my students.
The electric pencil sharpeners will allow my students to complete their work with sharp pencils that they can take pride in.
Having the necessary supplies in the classroom help take away some of the frustration and difficulties that my students sometimes face.
