My Students
Welcome! I am a teacher who is new to Philadelphia, working at a school that serves elementary-aged students representing historically marginalized communities. As a special education teacher, I work with students with a variety of disabilities and support needs in grades 3-5. I am eager to provide a safe space for children to grow as learners and as members of their community. I know that my students will be excited to work alongside me in the areas of reading, writing, and math in an environment that provides them with the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
Please help my 3rd-5th grade special education resource room foster meaningful learning by having reliable access to sharp pencils and notebooks! Having a high-quality pencil sharpener will allow scholars to take ownership of classroom materials and being prepared to learn each day. This pencil sharpener will not only ensure their pencils are sharp for their writing work, but will also sharpen colored pencils as we explore creativity in the work that we do together. Notebooks for students will provide access to an organized space for students to document their thoughts, ideas, and growth as we work together to evolve as readers, writers, and mathematicians.
Having access to high-quality teaching tools in an urban setting will allow students to take pride in their work and know that their access to basic school supplies is valid and reliable.
