This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Bring the color back to our classroom! Our crayons are broken and dull. Our markers are dried up and losing ink. We are out of craft sticks to make our puppets. We need your help!

My students are great.

They love learning, and they enjoy coming to school. My students are mostly immigrants or children of immigrants. Many are English Language Learners (ELLs), but they are excited to become trilingual and learn French. Nearly all students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch because their family's household incomes is below the poverty line. It is a large, crowded school in a very large urban district. Even though the school has limited resources, students have some of the highest test scores in the area.

My Project

My students use the crayons and markers daily. They are used in French class to decorate our puppets for our French play. They are used in reading to create posters about the books we are reading. They are used to make any assignment more unique and interesting. The craft sticks are an essential material for making the puppets we use in class as well. These are basic materials that we really need. Please help us get some new art supplies.

Elementary school is so much more fun with color.
