This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 6th grade students have started a new chapter in their lives ~ middle school!
It's inspiring to work with young people that strive to achieve their goals, despite the challenges they face every day.
The majority of them come from low-income homes. There are also many English Language Learners that are adjusting to life in our country.
My students consider school to be their second home. They enjoy socializing as well as academic endeavors. At their age, they face a lot of peer pressure. It's important for teachers to guide them in the right direction and promote positive interactions.
My Project
At Paul W. Bell Middle School, we take pride in our students' achievements. That's why the faculty encourages participation in team sports. Whether it's in the stands or on the field, sporting events involve the whole school community (parents, students, and faculty).
After Hurricane Irma, our community became closer than ever.
We believe that enhancing our sports department will increase school spirit and uplift our community.
Our students have expressed enthusiasm for basketball, volleyball, and tennis. This project would encourage them to become engaged in school related activities. Since student athletes have to keep up their grades, we hope this program will motivate them to improve their academic performance.
