This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 6th grade students have started a new chapter in their lives ~ middle school!
It's inspiring to work with young people that strive to achieve their goals, despite the challenges they face every day.
The majority of them come from low-income homes. There are also many English Language Learners that are adjusting to life in our country.
My students consider school to be their second home. They enjoy socializing as well as academic endeavors. At their age, they face a lot of peer pressure. It's important for teachers to guide them in the right direction and promote positive interactions.
My Project
Our middle school students are encouraged to communicate and collaborate. The teachers and administrators feel it's important to recognize students that demonstrate these traits. These children are positive role models for their peers. By offering monthly rewards of pens and pencils inscribed with our school mascot, we hope to inspire school pride in our students, and to motivate them to increase academic achievement.
The school mascot is a SHARK, and we are as focused and determined as sharks to have a successful school year.
Our request for pens and pencils will help us reward students that put forth maximum effort.
