This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are ready to start a new school year and my heart beats fast with excitement. It is my main goal to help my students go to the next academic level. How? By exposing them to the best experiences that will spark their imagination and promote a solid academic and social foundation during the time they are under my wings, at home or in school.
My students are unique, and they come from different social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Our students are also at different academic levels ranging from early learners to late learners. Our new class in school includes students with special needs. As a teacher, I'm constantly striving to bring the best experiences for my students. It makes me happy to make a difference in their lives!
My Project
Our school year is full of many challenges and elevated expectations this year. They will come to school wearing masks, keeping a distance, and unable to share toys to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and the Delta Variant. This situation brings the necessity to provide our students with enough materials to learn the basic skills needed during this first year of preschool.
Our present conditions require creative ways to keep our students as safe as possible, while also meeting children’s developmental and academic needs.
With the new manipulatives and counters, our students will learn to sort, classify, and differentiate in addition to learn language and coordination. The watercolors will give each student the opportunity to be creative, explore mixing colors and develop self-confidence. Our students will be able to explore and interact with a variety of materials while been inspired to imagine and experience the world from new and multiple perspectives.
