My Project

My students are significantly language-delayed. They may understand but not speak; have limited vocabulary or have experienced trauma that affects development. Hands-on materials such as a farm, play construction site, simulated foods, and beverages are best to discuss with a simple reward such as healthy gluten-free snacks for discovering an object's name and purpose. Sharing our thoughts should be enjoyable and sharing our needs is necessary for a good life. An ergonomic desk chair on wheels would allow me to be more independent throughout my therapy room to interact with the students since I have minimal use of my legs. This demand can be challenging but I'm all in for their sake although it does make me incredibly happy to see their success!
