My Students

My students come from a diverse array of cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. They are pregnant or parenting teens who want to finish their education and learn how to be a wonderful parent.

I want my students to gather the skills and resources necessary to be successful as a parent and as a student.

Teens with adult responsibilities need support and understanding to have success in school. We offer a calm atmosphere where the student can bring their child and learn the skills to be job market ready or be prepared to further their education.

A parenting teen does not understand how their schedule will change and they need a class schedule that can work with their parenting schedule. Through the chaos of new parenthood, I want to support my students to prepare them for life after high school.

My Project

My students are learning how to become good parents, good students and also how to take care of themselves in a healthy manner. Having a comfortable seating area that includes a rug and bean bag chairs, will give the students an opportunity to relax and share their thoughts.

An area rug with chairs will help the students be more comfortable when we are discussing sensitive topics.

Learning to be a high school student is difficult but then when you are also a parent, many students have questions that they are afraid to ask.

By offering this area, I am hoping to bring the sense of warmth and comfort to the students.
