Who are we? I teach a special, energetic group of second graders. We are in a very high need community. Students struggle to bring in basic school supplies and over 75% of our students receive free lunches.
We currently have a very limited amount of games and zero puzzles in our classroom. The games are mostly broken or have lost their pieces. In fact, we use our markers as game pieces! We desperately need games and puzzles to enhance our classroom environment. Our students need to be exposed to various games and activities. This way they can play in a group, be a team player and learn to strategize.
These resources will enhance their personal learning experience and growth. What are these resources? Well, we have everything from Comprehension Bingo to map puzzles. These resources and materials will help the students be exposed to different types of activities. It will get them motivated and give them an opportunity to really use their thinking skills. In addition, they will have a wide variety of activities to choose from. The students will enhance their social, learning, and reasoning skills. They will learn to share and be team players. These resources can double as a learning experience and a social experience.
So you're still wondering,"Why donate to this project?" Well, your help will ensure that 24 second graders will be exposed to many different games and puzzles. You will make it possible for these students to play more and interact in a positive and healthy way. Thank you in advance for all of your help. My second graders and I will appreciate this gift for a very long time!
