My Students
My students are loving, curious, explorative, motivated and creative! They enjoy new experiences, songs, and movement. The sound of music keeps them engaged and moving.
Our classroom age ranges from 3 yrs.
old to 5 yrs. old and for many, this is their first real school experience. 75% of my students come from low-income families and are bused from parts of the city arriving from different backgrounds and challenges.
Different learners and different students bring their own process in how they work and think. I want to offer my students opportunities to visually engage through learning through the use of a large monitor.
My Project
A lot of preschool students are visual learners and the large monitor will allow everyone to engage in the movement and songs as well as the visual science lessons through Mystery Science.
Mystery Science lessons show real-life pictures that foster student connections to their own lives.
The program also has read aloud books that follow the highlighted words on the pages for easy tracking.
Go Noodle is another shared site we want to use for student engagement by taking breaks in our scheduled day with songs and movement but also using songs for visual representation of letters and numbers.
