This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a group of adventurous, determined, energetic 4-5 year old children that are ready to explore and discover the many opportunities they are offered.
The students in my preschool collaborate and the kids in my classroom are a group of children that provide each other support by interacting with each other through play and concrete experiences.
The collaborative environment is a great way for children with moderate to severe needs who are eligible for special education to learn from their typical peers in the least restricted environment.
My Project
My project is to provide my students with a variety of age appropriate books that will support their literacy interest, book handling, and language development. Reading to young children will support their expressive and receptive developmental skills.
Having a diverse selection of books will give my students an opportunity to select preferred titles.
Students will be engaged by taking turns to name or point to characters, discuss open ended questions, make predictions and retell the story. The project includes board books, these are best for young children because the pages are easier to manipulate. I am also asking for motivational stickers and nameplates,
