My Project
I teach 146 enthusiastic 7th and 8th graders with different, specific learning styles and personalities. My school is a title one school where students have different reading levels, many of who are second language learners. Many are shy and worried about sharing their thinking. My classes are interactive and I'm always pushing them to feel free to answer questions and share their thoughts with each other. Of course, when students answer questions, they look around for other students' reactions. This awareness of others around them seriously hinders any future possible thinking. Of course, they write some answers or thinking in their journals and in google classroom, but this is much later and not spontaneous. It stops the flow of thoughts. The small white boards would allow the flow of 'free thinking' in my class.
