Help me give my students literature to improve their reading and thinking skills.

My Students
The students at my school generally come from low economic backgrounds. Most students crave that extra support from other adults around the school. Also, these students need some extra guidance academically, behaviorally, and/or socially.
As the resource teacher/special educational teacher, I have the pleasure to work with students in a smaller group setting, giving my students that extra support that they crave academically, behaviorally, and/or socially.
I have the opportunity to meet each of my student's individual needs to help ensure success in that child and to see them explore the feeling of accomplishment that every child wants to achieve.
My Project
In my reading support class, students are learning different reading skills: main idea, theme, author's purpose and tone, text structure, literacy devices, and analyzing literature. To help build these skills, I would like to create a book club with my students. My students will read and complete an activity guide to go along with their book. Since my students are at different reading levels, there are different books to match all my students' reading levels.
"A child who reads will be an adult who thinks." - Unknown
This is an opportunity for my students to not only build their reading skills, but also help build those thinking skills that will last them long after they graduate from school.
"A book is a gift you can open again and again." - Garrison Keillor
Help make this gift possible for these deserving students.
