My Project
My students will begin learning about lines and shapes by observing two ant hills. By learning that lines take shape organically in nature they have made their first real world connection to geometry. Next up is Empowering Students Through Art! Students will each choose an animal that is interesting to them. After researching using the books and other sources, students will then use the art supplies to draw their own animals using geometric shapes and lines. While students take time to draw, other students can create, name, and review geometric shapes by using art on the Colorforms or with Wikki Stix.
