One of the skills that my students learn is how to identify 2 and 3 dimensional shapes, how to distinguish them from one another, as well as how to combine shapes to make new figures. These skills are important but can be difficult to teach.
The best way to learn to distinguish between 3D and 2D shapes is to get them into the students' hands.
The products requested in this project were chosen for just that reason. The more kids can manipulate, handle, and use each shape, the easier it is for them to remember.
The possibilities with these pattern blocks are endless. Students will be able to hold them, touch the sides and corners, make patterns and just become more familiar with each shape as they have fun learning!
