Our high school students read the William Shakespeare classic Macbeth as part of their reading curriculum. Many struggle to understand the Shakespearean language.
By adding graphic novel copies to our library, I believe we can help our lower-level readers and our English Language Learners get a better grasp of this timeless classic.
If we have a classroom reading set in the library, teachers could check them out to use in conjunction with the original version that they currently use. I believe that the illustrated copies will help us reach students who may be feeling left behind or in the dark when only the classic copy is used.
