I work in the inner city. My students live in a low-income neighborhood and struggle with meeting basic needs every day. For many, school is a safe place that feeds them and removes them from the elements.
Since the first day I walked into my school, I knew it was full of talented students and compassionate educators.
I am ready to give these kids another reason to love the days they get to come to school. They need to know that they are valued, cared for, and worth it.
My Project
I am asking for help in getting some additional percussion instruments for my kids. They need to have some ancillary percussion to help them expand on their musical journeys.
Having more to choose from will give my students the freedom to create with their full potential.
They will be able to think of a sound they want in their compositions and find an instrument to make that sound. My students are great kids who love to make music, I want them to have the whole world at their fingertips and this is helping us on our journey. We need just a little more sound!
