My Project

Outdoor umbrellas will play a pivotal role in providing much-needed shade for our outdoor classroom and lunch area, where over 1,000 students gather daily. With our school being an environmental STEAM magnet, it’s crucial that we create a comfortable, calm, safe, and sustainable outdoor space for students to engage in hands-on learning. The umbrellas will ensure that students are shielded from the sun’s harmful rays, making it possible for them to stay outside longer, especially during sunny and hot days. These shaded areas will also offer a cooler, more comfortable environment for students during lunch breaks, promoting better hydration, social interaction, and overall well-being.

The goal for this project is to enhance the outdoor learning and social experience for our students while supporting the school's environmental focus.

The umbrellas will not only protect the students from the sun but also align with our commitment to sustainability. By providing students with access to shaded outdoor spaces, we aim to encourage a more active, engaged, and productive learning atmosphere. This project will directly impact their ability to thrive in outdoor classrooms, where they can experience nature up close and engage in interdisciplinary STEAM projects, integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in an environment that promotes hands-on exploration.

Our students are part of a community that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a passion for the environment. As an environmental STEAM magnet, they are constantly encouraged to think critically, innovate, and find solutions to real-world problems. The opportunity to learn and explore outdoors is integral to their growth and development. The outdoor umbrellas will not only help create a more conducive space for their learning but will also serve as a tool to inspire their passion for environmental sustainability. They will learn firsthand how thoughtful, sustainable design can make a tangible difference in everyday life.
