This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a Title I charter school serving a community in Sun Valley. Due to economic needs, most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. My fourth-grade class includes a diverse group of students, with a wide range of interests, abilities, and a love for learning!

I want to foster my students' love of art and learning by incorporating shadow puppets and storytelling in my classroom.

With these materials, we will create a shadow puppet theater and practice storytelling for our friends and family at school! My students love art and hands-on learning, so this project will be a really special way for my students to explore the performing arts.
