This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students generally come from low-income families that live around the school neighborhood located in the Southeast area of San Diego. Most of my students are African American and Latino, followed by students from the Pacific Islands or Asian backgrounds.

Our school is a unique place.

The school has a great percentage of students with special needs; therefore, our school needs to be equipped with technological devices, lab tools and materials, and other resources that will guarantee that all students have what they need to learn and succeed adequately.

My Project

I have three female students who are in need of art supplies and hygienic products. During these dire times, some parents lost their homes and have been forced to live with other families and/or stay at shelters. The less I could do to relieve the emotional stress of my students is to supply some materials that they need, even if it doesn't seem too much of an assistance.

Therefore, I am providing the art supplies and hygienic products these students desperately need.

I know that painting will be a creative and healthy escape for some of these artistic students. Additionally, the lavender aroma of a body wash, and being comfortable during those annoying days of the month would be an extra support for a healthy state of mind.
