My Project

Our students need an opportunity to learn a life skill that can in turn improve their quality of life and spark an interest into a career path in fashion design. We need some new sewing machines to bring the class into the 21st century. Our current sewing machines are outdated and are difficult to use. This class is an elective and is offered to students showing an interest in this class. They will have hands-on experiences and be motivated to learn all that they can about this life skill and how they can use it outside of the classroom. The goal is to start with the basics and proceed with more advanced skills, opening up more opportunities for more students. Our students have not had too many opportunities to use what they learn at school in the real world, so this class has sparked excitement.

The sewing machines will be used in the classroom and give students the opportunity to create small sewing projects and then move on to bigger projects as they increase in skill and technique.
