Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low income, hard-working families. In my TK class I will have students brand new to the school environment, and many are English Learners. However, they are eager to try new things and work hard each day!
They always make me smile, and I love watching them grow as learners!
We also spend a lot of time building a sense of community in our classroom. We learn that making mistakes is okay, but it's not okay to not try. This is a lesson that the students take to heart, and one that sticks with them all year, and hopefully throughout their lives!
My Project
My students will be beginning their school career at home, rather than in the classroom. Their young age creates unique challenges for their families, as well as for me as their teacher.
I want to be able to give students the tools they will need at home to help them stay engaged, have fun, and most importantly learn!
Crayons, pencils, and paper may be things that we tend to take for granted, but are items that are not always readily available to my students.
Whiteboards will allow my students to to practice right along with me during our online lessons. These will help us as we practice letters, sight words, math, and more!
