My Project

The students coming to me have made it clear that they want science to be more engaging and interactive. My science teachers inspired me to love science and to take time to notice the wonderful things around me and to ask questions! I want to be THAT teacher for my students. As a small rural school with nothing but a corner store within 5 miles it can be hard to experience new things. Through Teacher Pay Teacher I will have access to thousands of lessons, labs, and activities that will make science as fun and engaging as possible. These lessons and activities will make learning engaging in multiple ways so that all learner types including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic will know what it's like to be a scientist and how to use their natural curiosity to fuel their own learning. They will learn how to document what they see and ask questions about what they still want to know. They will learn that science is not only explosions (bummer!) They will learn how to use science tools correctly to measure volume, experience and describe condensation, create and identify mixtures and solutions in school and at home, design force and motion experiments with toy cars, and so much more!

Carl Sagan said, "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." This is what I want my students to walk away with.

I want them to know that there are incredible things all around us that they haven't even noticed. I want to foster this sense of wonder in my students to make them life long learners in all areas of learning.
