Help me give my students items like a bookshelf, storage bins, rolling cart, books, and basic classroom supplies for the resources to have a successful and unforgettable year in second grade.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
New year and a new grade level! I have been a sixth grade teacher for five years, but this coming school year I will be in primary! I am so excited to teach reading and writing skills but this means I will be needing some new supplies to support this younger cohort of students. The supplies I'm requesting includes consumable materials that are used to motivate students to accomplish their learning goals. For example, the fidget toys will be placed in my treasure box for students to earn based on their behavior, amount of books read and for completing their class job! Other materials such as the storage containers will be used to help house the curriculum and manipulatives.
My goal for this year is to help students foster a love of reading!
I have many chapter books from when I taught sixth grade but I am requesting some of the most famous picture books from when I was younger that helped me fall in love with stories. Picture books aren't only engaging, they will support students who have special learning needs and English Language Learners! Additionally, I am requesting resources that will support a positive classroom culture such as Synonym Splat, Guess Who, and Pixel Art! These materials will support all types of learners and help motivate students to complete their assignments!
