This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
If you're reading this, thank you for being here! I am a first-grade, dual language classroom teacher in NYC and I'm looking to support the needs of my classroom for the upcoming school year.
Help give my students the supplies necessary to complete classroom assignments and projects, as well as to have colorful and vibrant materials and classroom decorations that will motivate them to learn.
As the beginning of the school year approaches, I see myself preparing to receive my students in a well-stocked and inviting classroom. Students will use materials such as pencils, markers, crayons, wipe boards, and erasers on a daily basis to complete different classroom assignments and activities across content areas. Toner and paper will be used to provide students with colorful materials for literacy and math centers as well as to create classroom signs and decorations.
Over the years, I have seen myself funding my classroom and it has proven quite challenging. If you know me personally, you know how much I care for my students and how hard I try to provide for them. This year I decided to seek support from the community to make this task a little easier.
I am hopeful that with your support, I'll be able to bring these materials into my first-grade classroom. Again, thank you for being here and considering supporting NYC's youth!
