My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 50% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Queens. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic.
My Project
These materials are designed to set up my students for success. Even though my students are in kindergarten, they are all aware of COVID and the effect it has had on our community. Students are now more than ever eager to keep a clean learning environment for themselves and their classmates. Wearing masks and hand washing is an important routine in our room.
It is important for students to be focused during instruction.
It is difficult for anyone to stay focused when they are hungry. This project will also allow my students to get a snack if they are hungry and continue with their learning objectives. As you can see this project will set my students up for success!
