My Project
We are creating a student-run classroom cafe and functional skills lessons. In the cafe students will practice job skills such as taking orders, preparing orders, and interacting with "customers (staff)" . In the classroom we will be practicing cooking skills ( microwave, toaster oven, etc) and daily living skills. Every item requested helps students develop functional skills they will use at home, in communities, and at future jobs.
My students are exceptional learners with autism, intellectual disabilities, and communication challenges.
They benefit most from structured, hands-on learning that connects school with real-life tasks.
