This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to actively engage in sports that build discipline, confidence, and teamwork. This project is designed to give our middle school students a strong foundation in the sport of tennis, with the ultimate goal of developing skilled, confident players who are ready to compete at the district level and beyond.

Our current equipment limits how many students can participate at once, which cuts into valuable court time and reduces the effectiveness of our instruction.

With your support, we can change that. Your donation will help us purchase beginner-friendly tennis balls, portable multipurpose nets, rubber court markers, and a replacement net for our school’s tennis court. These resources will allow us to divide the space into multiple practice courts so that all students can be active and engaged for 90% of the class time.

We want to ensure that every beginner in our tennis program can play their first match within a month of joining. By expanding our equipment and optimizing our court space, we can increase time-on-task, build confidence, and foster a love for tennis that will last a lifetime.
