This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, energetic, and full of potential. They come from the South Bronx, and while resources are sometimes limited, their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm never are. What makes them special is their willingness to support one another and try new things. They’re always looking for positive ways to connect and grow—both in and out of the classroom.

Lately, many of my students have shown a strong interest in table tennis.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the equipment they need to play. I’m requesting a table tennis table, paddles, and balls to help bring this activity to life in our school.

These items will:

- give students a fun, active break that helps them return to class focused

- encourage teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship

- boost confidence through skill-building and friendly competition

- create a safe, structured way for students to connect with peers

The goal of this project is to build community, support students’ well-being, and create a new space for healthy, active play. Table tennis is a game everyone can enjoy, regardless of skill level, and it will give our students something to be proud of.
