Serious Learning: Play

Help me give my students dramatic play materials to engage in learning activities and build communication, collaboration, and vocabulary.

My Project

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood," says Fred Rogers.

A typical day in my classroom is full of learning, laughter, and the excited chatter of my Kindergarten students.

We love working together to learn all we can! Much of the learning we do in Kindergarten is through active play and exploration.

We come to school each day with a heart for learning and teaching. Each day centers around building students up to be successful in the future. One of our favorite rules of the classroom is believe in yourself!

The dramatic play stand and props will allow my students to have real world experiences within the walls of our classroom. Students will engage with each other, build their background knowledge, engage in problem-solving, and expand their imaginations in the dramatic play station. Whether it be the Farmer's Market, the Taco Stand, or the Sandwich Shop we will expand our creativity and interpersonal skills through play!
