Help me give my students access to different series of books. These books will provide support during our next writing unit, where students will write their own book series.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you enter our classroom, you will meet a variety of students who all love to learn. Our students have a variety of needs and interests. Our class is an integration of general education students, students with disabilities and students who are English Language Learners.
All of our students are always eager to learn new things and love to use new tools and resources in their learning.
Each and everyday we instill what it means to be kind, and what it means to be leaders.
My Project
During our next Writing unit, From Scenes to Series, students will be creating their own book series. We will work together to learn the steps of creating a series, and then the students will use their imagination to create their own character, give their character special adventures, and truly make it their own.
In order to help students understand what a series is, we need access to different book series!
This is why I am asking for numerous books that our students will enjoy. Cam Jansen, Magic Tree House, Henry and Mudge, and the many others listed are just a few series books that I remember from my childhood, and I would love if my students had access to them as well.
I cannot wait for these little authors to get started - we may have our next J.K. Rowling, Cynthia Rylant, David Adler, or Mary Pope Osborne in our classroom!
