Serging Ahead: a Serger for Advanced Fashion & Design
Help me give my students a serger to explore creating wearable knit projects!

My Project
Next school year we are anticipating a larger class size of students scheduling Fashion & Design II, a class where students explore sewing with new-to-them materials such as knits. The sergers we have in the classroom are hard to thread and difficult to find the correct tension for the material they are expected to sew.
Supporting this project will allow us to purchase a new serger that is great for beginners; it is easy to thread and easier to find the correct tension needed for the material being sewn.
Projects that my students are expected to complete include: a sweatshirt, knit pants, or a knit shirt. The serger can also be used to demonstrate serging to lower level classes so that they can see it in person.
This project will benefit students not only this year, but for many years to come, as well. Thank you for your support!
