My Project
The calming corner in my classroom will offer students a safe and inviting space to manage stress, anxiety, or other strong emotions during the school day. The specific items I’m requesting, such as soft cushions, stress balls, fidget toys, and mindfulness cards, are designed to help students self-regulate and refocus. These tools allow students to take a break from classroom activities, relax, and gather their thoughts before re-engaging with their work. The calming corner not only reduces classroom disruptions but also promotes a more harmonious learning environment where students feel valued and understood.
The goal of this project is to cultivate emotional resilience and self-regulation skills among my students.
By offering a dedicated space for emotional expression and relaxation, the calming corner encourages students to develop healthy coping mechanisms and understand their feelings better. This approach is particularly beneficial for my students, who are special because of their unique backgrounds and diverse needs. Many of them face various stressors outside of school, and having a calming corner provides them with a sense of security and support. Ultimately, this project aims to create a classroom culture that prioritizes mental well-being and fosters an inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive.
