This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school library is dedicated to fostering friendly reading environment, but unfortunately, the noise from scraping metal chairs disrupts the calm setting needed for focused reading. To address this issue and promote a quieter and more conducive learning space, I am seeking funding to replace the makeshift tennis ball chair covers with durable and effective chair glides. These chair glides will not only dampen the harsh sounds but also encourage silent reading and concentration, fostering a more tranquil and productive atmosphere.

- The current metal chairs in the library have makeshift covers made from tennis balls, which are ineffective and easily removable by students, leading to constant noise disruptions

- By replacing the makeshift covers with durable chair glides specifically designed for classroom chairs, I aim to significantly reduce the noise generated when chairs are moved, creating a quieter space that enhances focus and concentration

- A quieter library environment will facilitate silent reading sessions, allowing students to immerse themselves in books without distractions, ultimately promoting literacy and academic achievement

- The chair glides will also contribute to the longevity of the chairs by protecting them from damage caused by constant scraping against the floor, ensuring that they remain functional for years to come
